Refund & Return Policy

At Low Vision Calgary / Calgary Eye Clinics, we are committed to providing personalized, medically-appropriate low vision care and custom-prescribed devices. Because low vision devices are custom medical devices that are individually prescribed and dispensed based on each patient’s clinical needs, they cannot be returned or refunded once dispensed. 

This policy complies with Canadian medical device regulations and is required to ensure the safety, hygiene, and integrity of patient-specific devices. 

1. No Refunds on Medical Devices

By purchasing from LowVisionCalgary.com or in-clinic at Calgary Eye Clinics, you acknowledge and agree that: 

  • Low vision devices are prescription medical devices and cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged once dispensed. 
  • This includes (but is not limited to): 
  • Magnifiers
  • Electronic magnifiers
  • Bioptic telescopes
  • Full-diameter or spectacle-mounted telescopic devices
  • Filters and tints
  • Custom eyeglasses
  • Prismatic devices
  • Any other prescribed low-vision equipment
    All sales are final. 

2. Patient Acknowledgement

 At the time of purchase, patients acknowledge: 

  • “I understand that low vision devices are prescription items and cannot be returned once dispensed to me.”
  • “I understand that there can be no refund on any magnifiers, eyeglasses, telescopic devices or other items purchased from Calgary Eye Clinics / Low Vision Calgary.”
  • “I understand that my eye condition may change suddenly at any time, which may render the device unusable. This change is not the responsibility of Low Vision Calgary or Calgary Eye Clinics.”

3. One-Year Prescription/Magnification Change Coverage (BiopticGlasses)
For patients purchasing BiopticDriving Telescopes orBiopticLow Vision Glasses, we offer: 

One (1) year of magnification or prescription adjustments at no charge,
provided the frame and optical device components remain intact and undamaged. 

This complimentary service covers: 

  • Prescription changes
  • Minor alignment adjustments
  • Magnification recalibration as medically required 

This policy applies only to Bioptic purchases. 
Other low-vision devices remain final sale with no returns/refunds. 

    4. Device Warranty (Manufacturer Guarantee)

    Many devices include manufacturer warranties for defects. 

    These warranties cover manufacturing defects only—not: 

    • Damage due to wear and tear 
    • Drops, water, or impact damage
    • Scratches or altered components
    • Changes in vision

    Warranty claims must follow the manufacturer’s rules and timelines. 

    5. Non-Medical Products (if applicable) 

    Any non-medical products or accessories sold through the clinic follow the manufacturer’s standard return or warranty policy. These will be clearly marked where applicable.
